Default 370 cfm okay for a 351W?

Another question this time for a Mach1 I am working on. It has a 351W and someone said they are placing a 370cfm holley avenger (i think). It was said on another thread that it was advisable not to place more that 600cfm into a 289/302. Would there be a recommended limit for a 351 so as not to drown the engine?

650 CFM is probably about right for a near stock Windsor. 750 CFM may start to hurt performance.

Google "CFM calculator". And realize a naturally aspirated engine will have a hard time hitting 100% VE.

Well, it sounds like a 2V carb. The larger CFM carbs are 4V. Here is what you are talking about. http://www.holley.com/0-7448.asp

instead of writing it all again, just read my reply in this thread and ignore the parts about multiple carbs.. its background info that if understood can help you pick the right carb. Not tryin to tell you what to do, just providing information that was learned the hard way..
