Tires to go with a 15 by 7 in wheel?
Hi all,
I plan on goin to with Dennis's disc upgrade. That means changin my wheels to a 15in wheel. I was wonderin what tire size to go with on the 15s. I looked at the wheel/tire size chart and saw a lot of tire sizes. I really would like to keep a more stock look (tire profile) but a bit wider. Any suggestions on tire size?
Soaring- you were going to check if your wheels were going to work on Dennis's brake upgrade. Did you get figured out and what wheel size do you have now?
Thx, Walt

RE: Tires to go with a 15 by 7 in wheel?
If you want them the same size all the way around. might I suggest a 225 60 15. If you like a bit more tire in back, provided you have the right offset and backspacing, a 235 or possibly a 245 from the right tire manufactuer wold look nice. if you go with a 70 they will be too tall and rub the fenders.. Minimum of a 60 IMO.. my 67 wasnt as low as yours and 70s rubbed the front fenders in tuns.
IMO much narrower than a 225 will look too spindly, like a fat chick on ice skates..

My 68 has 235-45-17 on the front and 275-35-18 on the rear. Stock drums all the way around. The back you can fit up to a 285 wide with out to much hassel (Inner fenderwells). You will have to use a tire size calculator for your wheel diameter to find what series tire you will get. lots of good programs on the net.
