Ok thanks,

You see many clones out there, I have read on the net that the dealerships put the mach 1 & Boss decals on the cars...

Thus its passed off as the original maccoy,

I have been looking for pictures of the 72 convertibles to go by, but all I keep finding are the ones with the mach1 / boss351 decals on the fenders....

The site I got the info from is: www.boss351.org

Guess I am going to have to be lucky to find a 71-73 stang sportsroof in the Dallas area a year from now.
For the car I'd like to pay around 10k, the rest is up in the air (engine, other modifications to make it handle a bit better).

mach 1 Clone?

Its funny to read the car sale adds on collector car trader. 71-73 mustangs you see the word RARE used alot.... Rare manual 3spd, Rare manual 4spd, Rare 351... Becareful when buying have the car checked out & see if they will give you the codes from the drivers door so you and see what the car originally came with....

I like the car to look stock, mag-500 wheels, correct decals, correct int & drive train. Rather than buying a car to supe up and make it worth less than it would be if it was original... But to each thier own right? In 72 the thing to get was ethier the 351CJ or the 351HO w/manual 4spd.
these where plenty fast enough. Don't you think?[sm=gears.gif]

Well that is a nice clean Grande, and if is truly as rust free as he says it is.. its worth it. It is a decent color and doesnt have all the luxury stuff tacked all over the outside. If I had the extra cash right now I would buy it and drop a 429/460 in it.

Sturgeon is that big fish with huge teeth that gets big enough to eat you.. they are mostly in the rivers up here and some of the smaller lakes. The nice thing about fishing here compared to Alaska is it is still remote, but not that freakin remote. You dont need a Beaver and two guides to gete out and do something.. Glen the father in law owns a resort and runs charter boats all summer, best time to come is early to mid June since nobody is up here yet.. They think its still too cold. You can check out the projects and we can get some big ole honkin fish.. Biggest one this year was a 36lb lake trout caught by a 16 yr old, the misus hualed in a 14lber and she is only 125lbs dripping wet in her snow gear... she was workin that mornin.. think about it. its great up here..
Yeah, I suppose the price is OK. For a Grande. Yeah, Sturgeon is the fish I want to catch. Hopefully it will be a female full of roe so we could have Caviar with our special crackers and drinks just before a Rib eye dinner with all the fixings.

Rib eye? Why not Porterhouse or T bone? We get enough fish that you are plenty full after a day of fishin...

Those are some nice "big" stangs, hopefully the 71 turns out that nice..

That isn't even a clone. It's a convertible with the Mach stripes. Talk about your false advertising...
