running problem(please help)
In the past 6 months or so, I was driving my car and it stopped running check the fuel filter it was clogged so I replaced it. Then it clogged up again in about 2 weeks so I fiqured I would drain the tank and I found about 3 inchs of slug in the bottom so I replaced the tank and sender (which the sock had fallen apart) and put new fuel in. When I went to drive it, it would run for about 2 miles and when I would sit at a light it would die if I didnt have it in neutral giving the gas. So replaced the fuel pump and the lines and the filter(again). I also replaced the plugs and wires. Went to drive it again and is still doing the same thing. So I replaced the distributor, cap, and rotor thinking it was spark related issue. Went to drive it again same thing. I replaced the carb about 1 1/2 yrs ago, do I have to replace it again or what do you think it could be. I loosing patience with it. I have 200cid 1 barrel junk carb.
One of my friends said I should get a carb from a 72 250cid 1 barrel but I would have to jerry rig it to make it work. Like ream out the spacer plate so the butterfly can move freely. I just dont want to do that(too much work).
Should I get another carb or rebuild it.

If you're a master tech then rebuilding a carb should be cake. Just get a clean working surface, compressed air and a bucket of parts cleaner. It goes together just like it came apart.
You should be able to do this blindfolded, seriously.

If it is a Motorcraft 1100, I would get a rebuilt one from pony carbs. They say that carb had problems right out of the factory, buy they alter the carb somehow to make it work well. Give them a shout. http://www.ponycarbs.com
