How to read your vin number.

Using this vin number
5R09C123456
Broken down
5 = The year model, in this example 1965. 1970 cars have a "0".
R = Assembly plant were your mustang was Built.
09 = Body style, coupe convertible, ect,
C = Engine code
123456 = Consecutive unit number

Engine Codes
CID = Cubic Inch displacement, V8 = 8 cylinder, I6 = 6 cylinder, V = induction venturi (4V would be a 4 barrel carburetor)

RE: How to read your vin number.
These change a lot depending on your model year. For example the S code wasn't available until 67 or 68. Your also missing the "D" code which was available only on the early 65's (64 1/2). I didn't go to the link provided, but I didn't want someone to think your list was comprehensive.
