I don't think they make a double pumper that small I have a 600 cfm vacume secondarys on my stock 302 it runs rich but would be okay if I put smaller jets in it. here is a link to one at summit that should be fine for what you need. I'm sure other will post that you need to consider what you want to do with the car and consider new heads or having the ones you have ported also the intake choose makes a difference also along with headers or manafolds. but this everything left stock this should work

A double pumper is a mecanical secondary carb with an accelerator pump on the secondaries in addition to the pump on the primaries (hence the name double pumper). The smallest double pumper is 600cfm, which is kinda big for a stock 289, but it can be tuned to work just fine and will aloow for future engine upgrades. Holley also makes some 450 cfm DP's that will work up to 5300 rpm give or take.

The advantage of a DP over vacuum secondaries is absolute control on whether your secondaries are open. You can get close with spring swaps on a vacuum secondary carb, but that's just another item to keep in tune as the temperature changes.

With a good tune up, a DP will actually achieve better mileage for cars that run high rpm at cruise because the secondaries can be kept closed up to the engine's redline under light loads.

I have the Holley 600 VS, the same one in the link posted above. Haven't had any troubles with it but I do need to learn how tune it. I'm getting **** for gas mileage. Oh and all I have upgraded is the intake manifold, headers/exhaust, and the engine is bored over.

Holleys are not hard to tune,is your car stick or auto?
I have 2-715 cfm vaccum secondaries on my car and get 14.5 mpg with a 4:11 rear gear and close ratio 4 speed.

IMO a stock 4100 carb would be the best. Easy to tune and reliable.

Your car is f'ing BEAUTIFUL! 1969 BOSS 429's are my favorite car of all time. [sm=drooldude.gif] I have a C4 automatic, why does it matter? Something to do with vacuum?
