RE: newbie needs help
If you can get a cleveland cheap, do it.. its a bolt in deal. dont worry about 4V heads either, 2V is plenty big enough and much bigger than windsor. I love my Clevelands..
and yeah the chevy guys couldnt hang with the C, just like they need aftermarket heads, cranks and intakes in the "Stock" classes to keep up with the clevelands and Pontiacs, that are running stone stock heads, cranks and intakes and puttin a whuppin on the chevy.. its a long drawn out deal so just buy what you can find..
And if the "Cleveland" you have found is in a 75 or newer truck its most probably a 351M.. I would take a Windsor over an M anyday, mainly because getting a good intake is tough and they use the 460 sized bellhousing.

the m is not junk it just was a smog engine and u have to use a big block tranny and its a little wider but those aftermarket cleve heads fit it and the intakes with the adapters those thing are very strong when built

All C4, C6, and AOD use the same touqe plate on the 351C. As for the Cleveland vs Windsor, stock use the cleveland. To build one up use a windsor, parts are cheep and everyone sells windsor parts. I one both a love both..
