I would bet someone removed them because they were a tall person. Mustang Monthly or Mustang Plus had a posting about how to cut them down to make the riser smaller for people like me that own these classics and are 6'5".

In terms of proper location, my understanding is that the primary concern is to make sure that the 4 bolt holes in the seat riser lines up with the 4 access hole in the floor pan. They must line up so that you can get a socket on the seat bolts when you try to install the seat.
In my case, the seat riser is the only thing left, so do not have this problem.[:@]

Thanks to you all. I have no risers. Am starting to wonder what else is missing. Wher can I get a good copy of a chassis manual and an interiot manual that would have detailed diagrams?
