How Much To Get Fiberglass Installed?
im wondering how much you think it would cost to get my fiberglass trunk, tail panel, quarter extensions installed and fitted? im 18 and dont have a ton of money at the moment since i just spent it all on the GT/CS parts for my 68 coupe....i think i have something like $1200 left over...do you think it could be done? no paint or anything, just put on the car so i can drive it and stuff...

yeah thats the thing....id like to....but its just not lining up right at all and i dont wanna wreck anything....its really getting the tail panel and trunk lid lining up right....they hit...i need some detailed pictures of that area but cant seem to find them anywhere....i dont know how far over the lip the trunk lid is supposed to be on the tail panel....plus the lid is a little bit "tweaked"??? sorta like one side rides real high and u can see a fairly large gap and the other is perfect.....

its trial and error mine didnt fit very well at first but a little massaging here and there with some sandpaper and and adding a little filler and ull be golden might have to enlarge the holes for the caps slithtly so u can move them more side to side etc.

rmodel is right, Do it yourself. Take your time powder yourself up. I would get it aligned one piece at a time starting with the front of the trunklid the edge below the window. Then the tailight panel. Then the endcaps bearing in mind when aligning panels you might have to elongate holes and split the gap differences from sides. Then when it fits to your satisfaction then use of body filler to get the waves out and for fine adjusting of the panels. The satisfaction of doing it yourself and making it look tight will be very rewarding.

If I remember correctly, I think the total hours (labor wise) spent on my deck fitment and finishing was ~5 hours. Depending on your local body shops, you could cross-check that time with their labor costs to try and get a figure for how much it would cost for them to fit it for you.
