You will have more into the car than it's worth if you convert to a V8 and do it right. Unless you are building it to take to the track, just upgrade that 6 and have fun.

you gotta also see it from the other way around too....if you have the money...WHY NOT? i mean i dont know if i really have a opinion but im playing devils advocate here.....assuming your into the car improvement mindset....you would wanna replace things like suspension and tranny and stuff anyways...plus your weak 7.5" rear is going to be sorry its still alive if you really are gonna get a high performance 6 cyl....

if its not your daily driver, i don't see the problem in getting your new suspension, im thinking if your trans is an auto 3spd, its a C4....which you could use with a V8.....

the rear end is sh*t anyway you cut it unless u rebuild your 6 to be a weak grocery getter engine again.....

plus the feeling of having accomplished a V8 swap would be cool. this could be especially important if this car has any sentimental value to you...not like u can just sell it and get a V8.

plus the really cool part....ACTUAL WHEEL SELECTION!!! 5 lugs = many choices 4 lugs = like 2 choices....

I agree with Soaring. Rebuild the 6. You can add things for a 6 now that will scare you. BTW if you have a single bowl brake master cylinder I would look into a dual bowl for safety sake. CJ Mustangs has a upgrade kit. http://www.cjponyparts.com/TechDualMC.asp
