If it's a 6-bolt 289: Yes. If it's a 5-bolt, you'll need an adapter from a place like Mustangs Plus.

im not looking to efi it the engine is fine just needs a new home and we found an 84 gt350 20th anniversary that was carbed so all we wanna do is drop it in and does the t5 bolt to the 289?

Probably a 5-bolter. Luckily, many have been wanting to swap in modern OD's, so you have plenty of parts to chose from.

I'd go for a computer controlled auto like the 4r70w...then you just have the controller to play with. That tv cable is a royal PITA...
