Surely its just a case of removing the roof and perhaps changing the rear panels or shall I forget about the idea?

how much money do you have to blow or how skilled of a metal worker are you are the factors that will come into play here i would just leave it as it is if i were you

dont do it. find a fast back, spend the money, be done with it. youd be ruining a perfectly good coupe and fastback to make one hell child. that is just my opinion, plus if you're going to spend that kinda money on a conversion, just buy a fast back, will be a much better investment in the long run.

Don't even attempt it. =1 on if you want a fastback that is what you should look for.

i'm all for it. usually guys who can't do fabrication and body work will tell you not to attempt it. but if it's something you can handle, and you have a fastback w/ a body that's just not salvagable, i say have at it. i've seen it done, it's one heck of a job. it alll depends on how bored you are, i guess.

Your question is how "Easy" is it. I think the question should be how "hard" is it. I haven't done it, so really have no expertise, but for me it would be an impossibility. I think the problem would be finding a donor fastback to rob the top , doors, glass, rear clip etc. from.
