Hoping for the best. Expecting the worst
Well I pulled my hood, trunk, windshield, and back glass over the weekend. I had a friend help me and it only cost me a stereo install on a rice rocket. Gotta love the trade!
I was expecting to find a bunch of cancer around the front and back glass and was surprised to find only a small patch in one corner of the back. I did notice that there is a lot of surface rust on the hood under the structural supports. I can see it through the holes. How do I clean and get rust inhibitor inside this space?

remove the entire interior, or at least the back part of it, and you should be able to see the underside. The good news is the part that is rusted isnt curved, so its really easy to make a repair. And its covered by the weather strip and trim pieces... I hate window channel repairs though.. time consuming and they gotta be leak free.

There is no damage from the rust. It's just surface rust. I don't know how to get a rust inhibitor into the pockets formed by the structral members. Do I just spray it in and let it drip out?
