Time to change gaskets have ??
Okay I just need to do a quick fix and I don't want to spend more money than I need to, being as I will be rebuilding the engine soon. That being said of the following what would you choose?

Of those do I need any lube or sealer, If I do how do I use it??
Also if it makes a difference I have a set of weind valve covers on there, does anyone one know the torque specifications and order for them or is there any?
Is it as easy as removing the old covers, getting rid of the old gaskets, throwing the new ones on and bolting back up?
and lastly do I need to do anything special like clean the contact areas with anything.

Ok, heres what you do. Find yourself the CHEAPEST valve cover gasket set, I believe you can pick a set of ROL gaskets for under $10. And yes its just as easy as removing the valve cover discarding the old gasket, cleaning the surface with scotch brite or a razor blade. Then apply gasket sealer/maker to one side of the new gasket, then put the new gasket on to the valve cover and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, also put the bolts through the holes, itll keep the gasket from setting in a weird position. Then simply re-install, I think 15 ft lbs is as tight as you need to go.

Apply the sealer to the valve cover side, put the bolts through and let it sit to dry for awhile. That will ensure it is on correctly and not slip. I use Permatex ultra black. You do not use sealer on the carb gasket.

great, learning stuff everyday thanks to you guys! well, that should stop some of the high compression leaks I'm having on the top end. how much torque for the carb?
