Default TICKINg NOISe....

Ok! Im not going to lie, i was driving my car pretty hard last night. As i came to a red light, my car started bogging and making this ticking sound. When i got home I tried to figure out where the noise was coming from and im pretty sure its coming from one of my heads. What does this mean. Is there something wrong?? i started my car up this morning and took it for a spin and it sounded normal. I just want to know if i should be worried?...

If you run your car at high RPM for to long it can suck your oil pan dry and your lifters will not be pumped up any more. Maybe not in your case but either way it sounds like lifters.

Sounds blown to me... sell me your engine for $50 and buy you a new one. yeah, at High RPMS, the lifters can loose pressure, causing the rocker arms to tap.

Keep an ear out for a stuck valve, the engine will run rough if this happens.

I am with you on driving the car hard . My friends keep saying I am going to blow it up the way I am driving my 67 Coupe. I bought it to drive it and when it breaks I guess I will just have to fix. So run hard and live long I hope.

As long as the fluids are up to date and full, just run it as if it was stolen up to a certain amount of RPM. That all depends on what you have under the hood.
