Means some one bought an 'A' code at some point and used it to fix the poor old c code....prob even sold it to you as being a real GT too

Of course the counter arguement is that someone bought a 'c' code to fix up a nice 'A' code....

Find the welds and you will know which is which (underneath is usually where it is a give away), also pull the passenger fender....that is assuming you really want to know....sometimes you find out things you don't want to know if you look to closely....like 16959 might be a stolen car []

If you can't see any welds it could be a restamp from the factory. It's been known to happen.

Have you looked closely at the area around the 'a' code vin (from the underside) yet?

Personally, put it back together and forget about it.
If you ever sell the car, it might be best to mention it though, "ohh yeah BTW - when I pulled the fenders off, there was c code stampings, the guy I bought it from previously might have front clipped it or something"

This is the A code piece it looks pieced on to me .
Not really where I would expect you to see evidence...think smaller...like draw a little mental box around the vin stamping on the upper fender and then look under the lip of the upper fender for evidence of that mental box.

too many people worry about this stuff. It doesn't have the original motor, so it wouldn't bother me any anyway, BUT if it had the original motor, id be ticked it wasn't the one i thought it was, but you can easily tell a c code from a A code.
