I was going to tell you that the guy is crazy for charging that much for a coupe, but after looking at other L.A. Mustangs on Cars.com, it is priced right in there with other coupes. FWIW, about three months ago I sold my '65 GT coupe that needed paint and minor body work and a new headliner for $5K. That sounds really low, but after putting $5-6k into the paint, and another thousand on wheels and tires, it is right in that area. If I were you, it'd have to be in pretty tip-top condition all the way around before I'd consider it. Take a look at these

64-1/2 Black w/stripes

Green '65

If you really like it, offer a few grand less and see if you can get it. In my case, a guy waved me down on the side of the road and wanted to give me cash on the spot. I was moving in a few days and needed to clear some space for my fastback so away it went. I could've gotten a few grand more maybe, but I didn't have to advertise or do any work so I let it go. You may get lucky and the guy is also in a hurry to move product.

Good luck!

MAN YOU GUYS TALK SO HIGH OF OUR RIDES THEN SAY PEOPLE ARE SELLING THEM FOR TOO MUCH. I WOULD HATE TO THINK MY CAR WAS ONLY WORTH 8K AFTER PUTTING JUST THAT MUCH INTO THE MOTOR AND TRANNY

I think it is just the reality that the 64-66 coupes do not demand the prices of the convertibles or fastbacks. For that reason alone, I sold my GT coupe for less without going the the time and expense of doing the body/paint. The guy at the body shop told me flat out that I wouldn't get my money back if I were to sell it right away. So ...
