Yeah, even my west Texas car had rust on the bottom front part of the doors, and on the rear quarter panel. Since I had the entire body restored, all of that metal was replaced with new metal, and the value of the car definitely went up. I don't have rusty floors because the cowl never leaked. These old cars were built to be sold at $1.00 per pound, so yes, they were built cheaply.
