'69 vs. '70 Boss 302
Quick question...what is the difference (in looks) between the '69 and '70 Boss 302? Just curious, because a guy who lives around the corner from me has a Boss 302 in his driveway and I wanted to figure out which one it is. Thanks in advance!!!!

Yeah boss didnt like things that werent functional, so the side scoops were deleted for both years. How about the tail light embezelment part? Were'nt the 70's all black and plastic gridlike?

It's definitely a '70...two headlights and L-shaped stripes. Here are some pics...how much do you think would be a reasonable price for it? There is more rust than the pics show, and I KNOW it hasn't moved from the driveway in over 2 years...the last time it was registered, registration expired in March 2004, and I've never seen it move from the driveway ever.

For the money it is going to cost to buy, I would have a pro inspect it. It seems top be a repaint and it does not look like the correct shade. Also, I notice some cracks in the quarter, usually indicative of a lot of bondo. The more you know about the true condition of the car, the better an estimate can be given, and you will have more to negotiate. As mentioned, double check the vin to make sure it is authentic.
Good luck.

Is that supposed to be an original BOSS 302?? 5th letter in the VIN code is a "G" if it is real (driver's side of windshield). Also check the block - the freeze plugs should be screw in plugs. Lots of other little goodies to look for too. Not all Boss cars had the shaker hood scoop so it might be one. Looks to be a little rough on close inspection but if it's a real one then who cares - if it's a good price then snag it. Might want to do a magnet check on those areas that are cracking - like Coda said, could be bondo...
Cool looking car anyway you put it though - would love to get a simple '70 fastback and make it into a Trans Am racer lookalike !
