Pull up the trunk liner and check for pin holes in the top of your tank.

I checked the tank, it appears that there are not any pinholes. From what I can tell, the tank is not very old. Stange thing thing is the tank looks fairly new, but all the lines seem like they are original. I would think that if someone went to all the trouble to switch out the tank they would have also tackled the lines?

I think my problem may be my line from the fuel pump to the carb. I had not noticed until this problem that at some point someone had done a sloppy repair to the original steel line. They had taken the steel line from the pump, cut it and attached a rubber hose that goes into a fuel filter. Then from the fuel filter there is a 1 inch piece of braided line to the carb. All held together with cheap clamps.

Needless to say, I'll be ordering a new stainless line from NPD today.
