thats great, the car is an original 351 which sat for years till i encouraged the old man to build it up early last year
all the body work and suspension has been done set up for the quarter mile more then anything and we have been debating on what motor to put in it. he favors a 351 block which he'd get bored to 408 and seeing that its his car that rules over my preferance ( 4v 4.6 from his totaled 03' mach 1 which i'd love to put on the bottle ) i understand that its not as ***** out but it would be cheaper and way easier but he's the kind of guy were money dosent matter. do you guys have any other suggestions?

If it's Dad's car and Dad's money I think that's all that really matters. Maybe you could buy the 4.6 from him and start a project stang of your own?

Describe the damage done to the 03 Mach1, as I have one, and would certainly not want that monster to go to the crusher.

Its pretty bad it breaks my heart to see it like that but after the accident most of the panels are no good the hood and both front fenders are all that are salvagable cosmeticaly, it was it by a new toyota 4runner in the passenger door then smashed into the guardrail because some punkass lost it in the rain the motor and trans are fine but the rear end it junk
If you want interior parts the seats are fine and it has the mach 1000 stereo but the amps and sub were damaged in the wreck
when i say totaled i mean it
Most likely the 408 is the way we are gonna go because he loves the redneck brute N/A power lol
but i dont have another car to drop the motor/trans into so if any one is interested and from socal he may let it go for a reasonable price

Have a 67 Cougar in the shop right now. Its getting a ground up rebuild the way I always wanted it.

Dropping a 4.6L in one is not an easy or cheap task. They are way to wide to fit in there without cutting the shock towers out. Then you need somewhere to mount the upper control arms, the springs, and the shocks. yes it can be done, no it isnt better than a 351 being stuck in there and it costs a fortune to do it. Buy a 97 GT and drop the Mach engine in it instead.. Much more fun, and a sleeper to boot.

Heres some pics of mine.
