To lower or not..

To lower or not..
I'm getting some suspension things fixed this week, replacing some worn out parts...and i was wondering that while im working at the suspension...whether or not i should go ahead and lower my car an inch. I've been wanting to lower it for some time now, and im looking for some recommendations.
So far, ive been looking at replacing the coils, shocks, leaf springs, and a lowering kit. I'm looking for an approximate 1" drop, i don't know any buddies of mine that have lowered their cars, so i dont know how it "looks," and i would like to get some input from you guys. I'm pretty much looking for any recommendations on any companies to go and look through, or what i should be replacing, and what i probably shouldnt replace. Thanks
-Ivan
btw, heres how my car looks atm...gimme your opinion if you think it'll look better lowered or not. thanks once again

RE: To lower or not..
My 66 mustang is lowered about one 1in. It looks good. I got headers on mine and sometimes they drag. I can't go any lower. It turns better and the feel of the car is more like a sports car. I feel like my but is dragging the ground. Go for it. With the back I used lowing blocks and the front I got new front springs. It was a long time ago so I don't know where I got them.

RE: To lower or not..
I found Front Performance Coils for $85, and a Lowering Kit(blocks) for $25. Will be looking into some other vendors in my area to see if i can find anything cheaper, but sofar things are looking pretty good, and im looking forward to that 1" drop

If you want to have turn those corners better I say co for it. I am going to be doing it to mine soon for track resons. I good site to look through to see if they got it (they should) is http://www.mustangsunlimited.com. I buy there for cost and great parts. I haven't found better myself yet.

RE: To lower or not..
I have sort of the same questions.
I have a 67 fastaback. I want to lower it, but I am also thinking about doing the Shelby mod (relocating the holes for the upper control arm). So if I do the Shelby mod:
- Do I still need 1" lower springs?
- I am running 17X8 Edelbrock wheels with P225 tires. Am I going to have a problem?

RE: To lower or not..
My shelby mod did very little to lower the body to the tire, so lowering springs would be required. Might want to look at progressive rate springs.
As for clearance problems, hard to tell. Are you even close now or is there lots of room?
