i'll scan the dyno sheet when i get a chance. and it is a 351 windsor that was bored .030 over. i think it's something like 10:1 compression..it takes 93 octane. A guy named Carol Carter from C & C Performance of Manassas, VA built it. He's pretty well known around here for making small block fords scream. Oh and to respond to a couple other people: i have refurbished the stock front discs and the rear drums and it really isn't enough. When your car can do a 1/4 mile in 10 seconds you should definitely be able to come down from 100+ mph somewhat efficiently. Anyway the first few responses were extremely helpful! Thank you very much.

So have you looked into the lightweight drag oriented discs? They really work and the unsprung loss really helps, although you may have a tougher time hookin then, and the fronts might come up a bit too far.lol.. It really does make a huge impact and they stop the car great.

Our trap speeds are in the 130-135 range and stopping with stock manual discs is one of those pucker factor things a few times per year. I really need to get discs all the way around, our drag car came with 4 wheel disc, and a rear end swap put drums in the back. The stopping distance from the previous 110-115 traps meant the second turn off instead of the first one.

Curious about your engine, I have two 4Vs and a pair of 2Vs all Clevelands though. What cam and valve train are you running with it? I been thinkin about making some changes to the 71s engine and having some fun with it. maybe a 408 kit under the 4V heads.. Whats your setup? And please forgive any skepticisim because we tend to get alot of people who say they have something incredible and really dont have much at all. Really its irrelevant as to how much power you are making regarding your brakes, what matters is the trap speeds you are stopping from, right? Stock is scary.

Alot of my Pontiac buds are using these. Killer brakes if you have the coin for them.. Look around the site, I bet you find something worth your while.

it's a custom ground lunati and we went with the hydraulic setup. of course i could tell you the specs....then i'd have to kill you. just kidding...i do understand the skepticism because i felt the same way until i saw the dyno sheet. Even the builder was shocked on how much power we got out of it without serious compression or a stroker crank. A 408 would be super sweet...although i like something that revs, but it all really depends on the application.

Light pistons pins and rods will still rev. The 467 can turn 7500 no problem and its a 2 bolt block.. it also revs quite fast, it will hit the limiter in the blink of an eye.. not as fast a rev as an F1 car, but for something with a 4.25" stroke and a 4.181" bore it rips really well.
