This is probably a simple question for most (but not me) I have a 68 coupe with a 302. I want to put new transmission lines in and change the transmission oil pan filter but don't know how to tell if I have a C4 or C6. Also, how many quarts does it usually hold when I refill it? Thanks, Scott
The 4 in C4 stands for 1964 the first model year of usage
The 6 in C6 stands for 1966 ditto the above
C4 Smaller engines three piece case 2 servo covers---- C6 Large engines 2 piece case 1 Servo cover
True dat! The C6 was used in big blocks starting in 1966. I seriously doubt he has a C6 behind that 302 unless some serious mods took place. But, we can't help him with the question until he tells us the shape of the pan.
