I wired mine so I will take a look at it when I get home and let you know what color wires go where. I can tell you now that if you cut the dash speaker wires cause you don't want to use it, make sure you wire them togther because they feed the power to your instrument back lights. (at least they do in my 68) I found that out after trying everything else under the sun.

I will do that. If I remember correctly, my car only had 3 wires going to the original stereo. (not including the 2 speaker wires) I used those 3 and wired them to the appropriate wires on stereo harness. My speakers are wired through an amp so I don't have the stereo speaker wires hooked up. Either way, I will send pic's and advise of color coding tonight.

OK, here's how mine is hooked up. I was wrong before, I have three wires INCLUDING the two speaker wires. Like I said b4, I cut the two (light blue) speaker wires cuz I'm not using the dash speaker but I wired them together (not attached to the speaker) for the instrument back lights. I have the car stereo power wire (yellow w/ a black line) wired to both the yellow and red wires from my stereo harness. I did this cause I think the red wire from the stereo harness is if your car has a seperate wire for ACC which mine did not. Either way, it still works withe the ignition switch in the ACC position. I have the black (ground) wire from the stereo harness attached to the bolt under the stereo. (see in pic) Make sure u grind down to the bare metal for a good ground. It was the easiest thing I have done on the car so far. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
