actually if i keep out of my 460 in my 77 f250 i can get 15-16 and if i put more air in the tires right about 18 is the highest i have gotten (the ride is so rough and bouncy) but it halso has mild cam and the 69 timing set in it ported heads 800cfm carb all on a weiand stealth backed by a built c6 and i don't remember my gearing in the rear but if you managed to fit one in you could possibly surpass that because the car is much lighter than my truck and the gearing that you use can be less for an almost same result but if you want track power get this John Kaase Engines you can pass every thing but a gas station

lol yea, well the reason I was askin is because my uncle has an old ford with a 460 and 5spd sittin around that he wants to get rid of for cheap. Figured if I could do that and still get good gasmileage, why not? lol. Who makes stroker kits for teh 289? or if there isn't were can I find info on what crank size and rods and what not works? What's this motor redline at stock?

LOL!! 8 MPG FTW!
You can get stroker kits from lots of places. Jegs, Summit Racing, you can search for them on ebay, sometimes there's some there.
