It should hold until you get mo money for a rebuild, if you don't beat it up too much. C4s can be built very strong...some drag racers prefer their light weight, but it won't be as cheap as stock rebuild.

try PM to trannyman and see what he thinks. I know lots of guys race with them but they're built units for racing and I don't know what a stock C-4 is good for torque wise, they are rated by torque, not HP by the way.

Yea I've heard c4's, when built right, can hold virtually any practiacl amount of hp (not talkin 8k alcohol funny car hp... you know what I mean)

I agree if built right they can. I just purchased a PA or performance automatic c4 transmission from: performanceauto They are rated to handle 450hp. They have heavy duty clutches and kevlar bands and alot of other goodies. They sell for $1000 on their official website. But if you look on Ebay you can find them selling for $650 from a wholeseller that purchases from them. (middle man) Which is where i got mine. With shipping you are looking at $735-745 then add in the Torque convertor price which you do not get with this tranny and or dipstick. Also you will need to reuse your bellhousing.

heres a link to info on their page: http://www.usaplaza.com/scripts/wcom...roductID=31801

I have a 302 mustang too, and I just had my C-4 rebuilt. The rebuild cost me $700 but it will stand up to just about anything. The guy who rebuilt mine rebuilt one for his car that is running 800 horsepower and is turning 6.20's.

One thing most people don't know or think about is heat. Heat kills an automatic trans. Make sure you get a good tranny cooler and live happier. Just some old school advice.
