Accidentally Mixed Power Steering Fluids...
My power steering fluid appeared to be the clear variety when I checked it; however, after adding some fluid and turning the wheel to see if the lines were full, red fluid came back up into the funnel...I'm supposing this means I made an idiot move and added the wrong fluid...now I'm trying to find out what my next move should be?
Do I need to bleed the lines and start over, or will I be ok with the mixed fluids?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Accidentally Mixed Power Steering Fluids...
I think as long as the bottle said 'power steering fluid' you are okay. Someone may have used tranny fluid before and you had no problems, right? PS systems are pretty forgiving, just need some kind of hydraulic fluid...

Jesus, let me try this again...you have transmission fluid in it as well, even the dipstick on my p/s pump says to use transmission fluid so no problemo, lol, gawd has been a long day

Classic Fords use Type F. Chevy's use that other stuff. Shouldn't hurt anything, but you could drain the system and put in all new fluid. Can't hurt.
