"Performance" Parts ???
I keep seeing references to buying "performance" parts when replacing parts like ball joints, lower arms, etc. What are "performance" parts - are they made forhigh performnce Mustangs ? I have a 68 6 cyl that's certainly not a high performance car and I've been buying my parts at NAPA. For instance I just replaced all the wheel bearings - bought them from NAPA - belive the brand name is MOOG. Aren't these parts good?

RE: "Performance" Parts ???
Performance parts are generally higher quality and able to withstand more pressure (load, weight, etc.). Although they are generally unnecessary in a DD, but will allow longer times between replacements.

Moog makes quality suspension parts.
My suspension is for the most part built entirely using "performance" parts as my intended use for the car goes beyond what Ford had originally intented for the vechicle. And yes, it does handle and drive very well

Does "DD" = daily driver? I also have bought Borg Warner and Federal parts. They good too? Back in the day, 30+ years ago when I was a shade tree mechanicI always bought my car parts from NAPA and it was the only store. Daddy always said use NAPA.

As was stated - Performance is normaly soemthing other than what the factory intended.
I've traded with Napa for some 25 years myself and my Dad has traded with them for lord knows how many years. The stuff they carry is as good or better than any other name brand auto parts and usualy the folks that work there have a clue.
