Default 68 Mustang Engine Pics

After seeing 67 Sally's post regarding the 67 289 engine bay and hose routing, i was wondering if the guys and gals out there with 68 Mustangs could post pics of their engines. In particular, the heater hose routing and vacuum hose routing for 289s with AC.My shop manual for the 68 shows a different configuration for the heater core at the fire wall as well as not showing the location of the control valve at all. My 68 also looks significantly different from the pics of the 67s in 67Sally's post. The feed and return hoses for the heater coreend atthe fire wallside by side, not one over the other. I also want to make sure that I've got it hooked up with the water control valve on the correct hose and mounted correctly on the firewall.

The 302 replaced the 289 in January of '68'.

They were still using the 289 early in the 68 production year, such as mine has. This also shouldn't have an effect on the heater hose and vacuum hose routing, so I would love to see pictures of 302 68s as well.

Stupid question, but what's the immediate visual distinction between the 289 and the 302?

OMG....so sinceI'm missing the tag that was under the coil (and all other forms of ID save the state-issued one since it was stolen at one time) I could be driving a 289?? Is that casting number on the block the only way to tell for sure ?

When I had my valve covers off, I believe that I saw that my heads were stamped "289".

You could always use a what's it called micrometer and determine it that way, or check you engines numbers... but my intake is from a 289, and from what I understand it was quite common to have 289 parts all over a 302
