Could it take an STI?

Could it take an STI?
Could my 65 GT take a Subaru STI? I have multiple people that want to race, an Eclipse, a Mazda 3, and an STI. The Mitsubishi and the Mazda shouldn't be a problem but the STI would probaly be a challenge. My question is: Can I beat an STI? I have a rebuilt 302 with a 4-barrell carb, headers, high-performance intake manifold, new ignition system and a high performance K & N air filter, I have around 350 hp.

what kind of tires? suspension? tranny?
the problem you'll run into if you really have 350hp is going to be traction. Those STI's are only rated around 300 or so hp, but they are AWD and they transfer power very efficiently.

prepare to be analy intruded. i think 0-60 is like 4.9 seconds or something like that, they launch harder than almost anything ive seen due to the AWD, fast truckers too, good luck, youre going to need it. even ive taken mazda 3s, no biggie, any regular WRX should spank you off the line, but the STI should do that x2. my car has less HP than you but ive been smacked around by STis before.

What kind of cam/heads you running to get that 350?
A properly built classic will have no problem with an STI, but I'm thinking you're a little too stock based on your posts.

Ok a friend had a scuby p1 (prodrive spec) and that did 0-60 in 4sec and the 0-60 on a regular sti is 4.7sec so i think given the awd and the lightness an sti should beat your stang in a drag be it rolling or normal start. But the biggest thing is the driver if he can't gear change properly and you can u should whip him. As for the mazda 3 u should beat that apart from the mps version which they sell in europe that has 260bhp thats a lot for a light car.
