console bracket

Default console bracket

installing a console in 65 coupe that did not have one before....can seem to find a good reference to locate the front bracket...does anybody have any idea where it should be located to support the front of the console? thanx for any help.....don

Don
Put the console over your shifter , center it (console) while in shifter is in neutral. mark where it( console) is on the carpet via mask tape. remove console measure where mounting holes are compared to ends of console. transfer measurements to carpet.

thanx ZZ...the console base is new and never installed in a car...as i have never seen under a console ...i have no idea where to attach the bracket to the underside of the console...i can only guess that it is poss. attached to the bolts that hold the top plate in place just inside the box...how close am i ????? thanx for help don
