Yeah we would chop up a few hundred acres of corn mix it with milo and sorghum, then either bury it in a couple 100' x 50' trenchs, and in a silo. let it ferment a while, and thats what the cattle ate all winter. I know exactly the smell you are talkin about, know it well...
except we called it silage (sigh, lage)... what fun that stuff is, and it always makes its way into your boots.. never made any sense but the cows loved that stuff. Made em taste good too!

I don't know how to spell it. But, it was pronounced insulage. In- sul- idge. I guess the short name for it was sileage. Here is a pic of the '54 Dodge that was the family car back in the mid to late 50's. This is obviously not ours, but is the same color. It was a beautiful car.

My uncle had a brown sedan just like that one.. it was that pasty medium turd brownish tan... ugly color, but woulda made an interesting custom or rod.. Its now part of a chinese excavator... or something.

Back then, cars didn't last but a few years, so after the '56 Dodge, dad bought a 59 Ford. He liked two toned cars.
This one obviously isn't ours but is the same green and white color. I lost my virginity in that old car.
