Default rear end swap 1966 mustang

yes a newbie here, gotta question. i have a 9 in. rear from a 1970 mustang i'm putting into my 1966 coupe. what kinda obstacles am i gonna face. i already know the 9 in is wider than a stock 66 8in rear, but by how much. and how is that going to affect wheel and tire combos. dont want to flare the quarters. any info would be appreciated

Why are you getting rid of the 8 inch?

well the car was originally a 6 cylinder so it has a 7.25 in the rear now. i was looking at prices for ring and pinion, and trac-lok parts and they werea lot higher foran 8 in. than a 9 in. and a lot of people have told me that a 9 is a lot more heavy duty and betterfor performance anyway. the 9 in. i got a hold of has posi in it. dont know yet whether its a spool or if its a locker or what. both axles do spin at the same time though.
