My Dad bought a 1968 Mustang coupe new in Texas. Then I bought if from him when I graduated high school. Some years later I sold it (wish I wouldn't have). How would I find that car so I could purchase it and restore it. I do not have the original VIN number. Thanks.

Call your old insurance company and see if they still have the vin on file, they may not but its worth a try. They are supposed to keep records of sales for at least 5 years so they might

i remeber a site a while back not sure if it was on here to search for lost cars u posted the vin # though? and people put cars they had bought searching for the previous owners looking for the cars history maybe google it

See if you can have a cop run it for you. The NCIC or check my still have it in the system under that plate... who knows.. maybe someone even kept the old plates on it. I don't know... it'd be better if you had a buddy who could do it for you... a cop who doesn't know you may not give you the info....
