its almost seems to be easier to get them sand blasted of all paint, spray em black then go over the grooves with a fine paint brush with pin striping paint. if you got a die grinder and a good attachment u could prob do it tho....gotta be ultra careful not to nick the surrounding black.

I can barely run a cuetip along the outter part of the design and "RACING" but when i get to the ford logo, fogeehtaboudit.

maybe once he gets the front accessories on there it will offset that bright blue a little bit.

The engine bay build begins...

The following pictures are just a mock up of componants. The supercharger will be put in place by tomorrow. The manifold is being switched from the Eldenbrock "Enduroshine" to the Eldenbrock "polished aluminum" finish.

What you see is very, very incomplete - like being half-dressed.

I will post more pixs as the work progresses.

I think the black valve covers are going to work great. The reaction of the shop guys is very positive.

I want this bay to be somehting really special. I would like your opinionsoff my efforts - I take no offense if this isn't your cup of tea. I'm having a blast!

The polished Griffin raditator will also be on soon.

First, thanks for all the suggestions. I am going now to discuss some of them with my shop.

It's interesting to note that, in person, the blue engine block fade away when looking into the bay (hard to believe, but ture!). We could have opted to paint the block(as in the '65's) but wanted to remain true to its origin.

The pictures of thisearly phase of the project make the engine lookvery awkward (wierd). But I think you'll find it interesting as more and more items are fitted within the bay. If my guts are right, all pieces should cometogther as a unified whole.

As to conveting the black red valve covers to black/blue - my fastback is black with red stipes so it goes together very nicely (Hovever, I am going to explore the black/blue option).

All suggestions - pros and cons - are appreciated. I really want to get the WOW factor and don't want ot make any major mistakes

If you are going with an MSD ignition setup, it may actually look good with a red dizzy/wire and ign. box.
very VERY good point which i didnt think of. msd makes great stuff, so if you use a red dizzy cap, red wires, red ignition box, those covers will match pretty nicely.... add in your exterior paint scheme and i think you'll be ok.

now with that outta the way.... maybe its the blue that needs to go? i wouldnt paint the block red but black would be a good choice.

Looks great, but I agree that making the red accents blue would look better.

I think it looks very clean and such. Stay with a color scheme. Don't mix and match unless it's just not an option. If you're going to keep the VC's, then get the MSD ign. set up to offset things. As it is, ( even with the SC and accompanying brackets, etc.. it'll still be out of place if that's the only red in the engine bay ).

At anyrate - please have the finished product dyno'd. I know we're anxious as you are to find where it lands.

Cheers.
