Compared to what I've seen here in LA these cars seem cheap - especially for those that are restored, as claimed.
Just check out shop prices - one can easily spend $20,000 (plus the cost of the car) with paint, interior, engine work, suspension, etc.
Am I missing something?

Some of those cars are good for the money and some are not. The 68 fastback for $24k doesnt sound all that bad, nor does the $28k for the Mach 1, depending on the engine and options. It is just the times we live in. I remember when $10k would buy you a very nice69-70 Mach 1...today you canhardly buy a rag for that. I like that 69 GT. 69 GT's may be the next Mustang to sky rocket in value since there were less than 5000 built. With a 390, a rare engine for 69, a 4 speed and what looks to be a nice restoration $45k may not be too far off. Too rich for my blood though

Being a rookie at restoring my 66 coupe, I like going to Barrett just to see what the money cars look like,, just to see how far off the mark I am. I can tell you that in some cases I am disapointed cause sometimes the sheet metal or paint job just doesn't seem like it's worth the cash unless it's a really hot car,,mind you that the vast majority are super to be sure,,but there seems to always be some you have to wonder about. This year I was surprised by the number of Shelbys up for auction, all studley to be sure

RE: Gotta Love Barret-Jackson
From the several hours of the Barret Jackson auction that I watched, many, many of the prices the car broughtlooked like they didn't cover the restoration costs. There were a boat load of cars the I am pretty sure the owners took a bath on. Didn't hear the final numbers but I would be suprised if the numbers this year equaled last years.
