sigh, i dont get the point of finding an old "lost" car. Im 18 and love my cars, 71 fastback and a 99 GTP. But once im older, im pretty sure i wont go back lookin for them. hell, mine are ALWAYS for sale, just for the right price ( what i paid for it +mods + my time =total) And If i happen to wreck it, theyres always another car. I guess im not the one to be sentimental about cars. I can always get another and make it how I want it. Why dont you do that? get any 70 mustang of the stame body style, and try to make it represent what you had back in the day? -Jon
Jon,
As you stated, you are 18, I'm 40. I never thought I'd want my car back when I was 18 either. I've been through a lot of cars since then, Alfas, 996TT, Boxster S, Audis, etc. But some of ushavea calling to return to our own age of innocence.(sp?) You'll be there some day.

Dave
Jon,
I BLEED Blue Ovals and Mustangs-- love all models and makes... and my grandmother worked for the Inland Fisher GM plant in Ewing, NJ, putting 69 Camaros together... I drove chevys all of my life till I drove a Ford when I was 23, and got my first GT.... I've been hooked on Ford quality and workmanship ever since... my 88 Firebird Formula leaked like a siv and rattled every nut and bolt loose. But then again, that's Garbage Motors..... FORD, QUALITY IS JOB #1...

See the trick is to keep the car you owned when you were 18. That way you won't have to go looking for it when you are 47 like I currently am. So when I need to find my first ride I take the steps from the kitchen and down into the garage and there she is. All shiny and ready to roll. As soon as I get in and whiff the interior, its 1977 all over again.

Somewhere in your house you have a copy of a title, lein title, service receipt, actual registration from that car. In an old shoe box in the attic. Under the work bench in the garage, or over at Mom and Dad's old place. Hell you probably still have an old set of keys for the car laying in a coffee can stashed in the shed. Just keep digging. BTW Hemmings Motor News has a section devoted to folks who place ads for lost, stolen or missed vehicles. You may try and post an ad there.

I have a set of keys from my 1973 F 100 "Full size" Ranger still hanging in the garage. I had to move the keys here because I bought the house in 1990 and built the garage in 1995. Man I really need to toss some things out. LOL

I hope to god every day that i dont get into a situation where i will have to sell my car. I am restoring a 69 coupe and im 18. Its in pretty bad condition. But with the time and money i put into it. I sure as heck will feel a lot of sentiment for it. Im looking into buying another mustang here soon. Its a 70 fastback with a 302, yellow. If i can hold on to that one i will be even happier. Good luck to you man but im telling you now.... If i had your car... It would cost you at least double watitsworth for me to sell it.
