Has about 140 hp if it's stock. Potential? It's easy to get 300-400 hp out of a 302. And, in a light car like the Deuce, you're looking for one quick car. Well, if you find a way to hook up anyway.

i used to have a three tone black cobra II (flat fenders, gloss black doors and primered black rear end) with a 302 that replaced the worn 302 that it originally came with. That car was a blast. great handling, great pinto look, and light as a feather.

Cinderblocks in the hatchback keep the tires on the ground.

The front suspension is worth it if anything.

i would say, good shape, 800 bucks... sure!!! even though most older model owners frown down on the mustang II, it was and still is a neat little car in it's own way.
Even though i sold mine a long time ago, my 66 paid it's dues to the mustang II. my car has never handled and driven so well.

800 bucks and good shape with a 302? i'd buy it right now if i had 800 bucks LOL.

the suspension is excellent in the front of the M II's and everyone makes parts to make em even better cause all the hot rod guys use M II stuff in their custom rides. the V8 stuff is also worth alot - the fan shroud, radiator, motor mounts, oil pan, oil pickup tube, bellhousing, flexplate or flywheel, torque converter if it has one, exhaust manifolds..... these are Mustang II specific and are very hard to find.

wheels are same bolt pattern as the 4 bolt fox bodied stangs of the 80's, so better rims are easy to find - it will support low profile 15" tires without a problem.

oh, and only the king cobras had the snake on the hood, along with a better air dam in the front and rear fender wheel well flair thingys. (along with the hood scoop and rear spoiler used on the cobra)

rear and side louvers as well as a rear spoiler really help set the car off - changes the look totally in the back half.

the handle like go karts, and are a absolute blast to drive. if you buy it and need parts lemmie know i have alot of interior stuff lurking around.
