I am restoring a 72 Mach1. The color is 9A white. The trim is AB blue all vinal standard interior. What Stripe and color packages would be standard. ( car was stripped and refinished blue)

get a marti report also decode the vin here www.mustangdecoder.com but the marti will give alot more detailed info google it

I don't see AB as an interior code. Maybe 4B (medium blue cloth and vinyl) or CB (medium blue knitted vinyl). The Mach I stripes themselves would have likely been black, but could have been blue.

In my book for a '72this is what it has:
CODE: AB, ABB, ABE, AB1
Body Type: 63D, 63R, 65D
Interior Trim: Medium Blue, All Vinyl

63D is sports roof and 63R is sportsroof Mach 1

The only stripes I have found for '71-'72 is black and argent (silver).
My 71 Mach 1 had white stripes with white/black inserts. I think some just painted the white stripes because it went better with the interior.

Thank you for the post. I am thinking that maybe the car did not have any stripes at all. There was evidence of the half vinol top, which was blue. (small pieces under windshield trim) I could not find any stripes under the repainted argent/blue paintjob

Let me know what you get on the Marti report. I talked to a sales person once about the stripe color information on the report. She said there was no guarantee that it would be on the report because it may be stored in a different place. Good luck.
