Default Manifolds vs Headers

I just had dual exhausts hooked to my ride, but I stayed with my stock exhaust manifolds.

My question is would installing headers improve the performance of my ride?

Should I go through the trouble of spending more money and installing headers or just stick with my manifolds, which by the way are in excellent condition.

Thanks!

BTW, this are the exhausts I had installed:

I don't know if it still workds, but if you type EBAYROCKS in the discount coupon button, you will pay about a $100 less than that listed price.

the tri-y's are a good upgrade keep some low end torque while adding on the top end plus they look period correct but its up to you if u want to lay down the cash they also change the tone of the exhaust note a noticeable amount

Would I really notice the difference while driving or is the change very subtle?

As the tone of the exhausts, louder, deeper?

deeper possibly slightly louder but definitely a different tone and yes u can notice a difference andf make sure to get some dead soft alum header gaskets so u dont have any ticking from the headers(the flanges arent as thick so they are more susceptible to leaks if u dont use the dead soft alum)

ya when i had my exhaust redone i had dual exhaust along with patriot tri ys, it gives my 65 pony car a true muscle car growl at idle and under acceleration, im quite pleased and i highly recommend them! (from what i understand just like the stock exhaust, the stock manifolds are highly restricting)

yes they are even the "K" code manifolds are quite restricting theres a faq about headers and clearance problems to help you decide on a set

Thanks guys, I'll look into it.

Oh, and what are headers that are ceramic coated?

They seemed to be much higher priced than regular headers without ceramic coating.

Ceramic coated exhaust helpskeep the heat inside the exhaust pipes, instead of radiating into the engine bay.
