Default what to look for when...

since im going to pick up my block in 2 days, i was thinking that nows a good time to buy a engine stand!! what should i look for when shopping for one. I was currently looking at these:

that is more than enough i bought one at work for $10 plus employee discount it only holds 750lbs but i only got a 289 so it was fine

The shipping is four times as much as the stand. For that price go to Autozone or Napa.

A friend of mine has an engine stand similar to those. And I've used my dads which is a somwhat different design in the legs and seems to be a little more stable. It looks a little more like my high-quality photoshop rendering below.

That standis plenty good. Advance Auto Parts sells a 750 lbs stand, which is still enough, for $40 if you are interested. They also sell a 1000 lbs stand for the same price of what your are looking at.

check harbor freight, they have like a 1000lbs. one for less than those ones on ebay since the shipping is so friggin' high and you can go pick it up.....

Whatever way you go, you do >not< want the 3 legged version. I've seen first hand what happens when things go south.

Get the 4 legged stand. You'll thank yourself in the long run.
