its entirely up to you if they are reptuable but i know for sure id make sure it doesnt have stock valves in there because the stock one are a two piece design and have a tendancy to come apart like mine did[:@]

If someone is charging you $2000 to make a square hole round, and then plug it, you are getting taken for a ride. Maybe with stainless valves, new guides/seats, new locks retainers and springs.. they yeah, $2k is right in there. The pistons are still available, even for use with 289 rods, or aftermarket. if you really wanted to build one, it wouldnt be that tough. Doing it for $2500 would be about right, although I would rather have forged slugs than the KBs as well..

Here is a possiblity for an intake. Since the W intakes are really too small for a C head. FWIW, Ford used to say using a 4V intake on a 2V engine was worth 30hp, even with the mismatch in ports. So get to finding a BOSS 302 intake and be happy. Be prepared to pay through your nose for it.

http://www.chiheads.com/manifolds.php

"Manifolds are available to suit our 185cc and 218cc Cleveland cylinder heads on 9.2"deck Cleveland blocks, 9.5" Deck 351 Windsor blocks ( 9.5" deck Windsor conversions, will require the use of our CHI water crossover - bypass housing) and we also have a 8.2" deck 302 Windsor manifold to suit our 185cc cylinder heads on 302 Windsor blocks."

As far as them for a builder, well I havent gotten any engines from them. I am very picky about who I get engines from, just one guy screwing things up is all it takes to make a huge pile of junk. Lucky for me I have only had one of those types.

yeah using an adapter and a 302 intake with those larger ports is just stupid. all your doing is choking them, which defeats the purpose of using the cleve heads
