Default Got the Export Brace on

The big brown truck showed up at about 2:30 today, and had my new export brace on it. It took me about an hour to mount it. The new export brace is thicker steel than the old shock tower to cowl brace, so maybe it will stiffen up the front a bit more. I had no issues whatsoever with the installation. I had read all kinds of horror stories about having to jack up the front of the car and let the suspension and towers sag, etc. But I just took off the old brace and slapped this new export brace on. All the holes lined up perfectly. I don't have my camera or I would snap a few shots. I left it in Houston, and will retrieve it next week.

Glen, boasting about no issues fitting the export brace isn't big or clever!!! How thick is it? mine is about 2-3mm and makes the old braces look like paper!!! I did the MC at the same time but turn in while not go-kart like is noticable improved, although bend marked 50 kph should not be taken at 60 mph as I found out nothing like opposite lock stearing to wake you up!!!

I got mine from Texas Mustang. I can't imagine a more heavy duty than this sucker. I kept bidding on export braces on ebay and kept getting outbid by a lot. The last one sold for 102.50. So, I just ordered my 36.95 one from Texas Mustang. Like I said, the holes all lined up perfectly. I was actually shocked, but pleased at the same time.
I took Ol Yeller out on a curvy road after I got the export brace installed, and took 50 MPH curves at 70 with no sweat.

Does it really make that much of a difference? If so I may be ordering me one!

Thanks

i dont remember but did you have any problems putting the MC in and if you did you may have solved them for putting the export brace on cause the MC took care of any prblem there may have been

and i take 45mph off ramps at 50 the acclerating to around 60-65 all the time with no MC or export brace but it is a little nerve racking

Nah, I ain't into chrome under the engine compartment. It's semi-gloss black. I don't know why that little extra thickness of the metal and the one piece makes that much difference, but it does. Hell, it's less than 50 bux to improve the stiffness of your front end. You spend more than that betting on the Colts to win the super bowl.
