Default 68' suspension?

It seems to me that the suspension on the 67-68's are the same regardless of I6 or V8, is this an accurate statement?

If not what is different besides spindles?

Don't know about I6 cars, but on V8's the lower control arms are differenet on 67 and 68's.

Ive also wondered about this. I know when you do a I6-V8 conversion, you need to swap out the suspension, but I wondered what was different about it. Perhaps the springs are lower rated, but I would think the stamped metal parts would all be the same.

Thats what I was concluding since all the catalogs state a differance between 64-66 I6 vs V8 but do not distinguish between 67-68 I6 or V8.

If the spindles are the same then a disc brake conversion should be fairly simple. I guess the rearend would need to be modified or converted to 5 lug as well.

While we are on suspensions, I noticed this (see below) as I was doing some prep work for my suspension upgrade. I looks like a bad spot for rust, and maybe this car had a front fender bender as some point. The welds look like a poor repair, and the bend looks like someone hit something fairly hard.

Thanks,
Deebo
