i think someone on here either works there or bought something on there before. hope they will see this thread and give some input. im not necessarily saying to get that particular engine, but a 347 in general would be a good choice IMO.

if your going with the 347 id pick some bigger names. i would think someone here knows t and l but its a little early still. kinda wanna know your $ range. other wise id just say http://www.worldcastings.com/prods_pages/102035.htm

pricy but man-o-war

good stuff

347 or 331would be my pick. I like the 331's. If you are going to enjoy driving much, stay with the lighter engines. If you want a straight liner with a afterburner, go for a big block.I would pick the one with the best track record and will actually help if something fails.

ORIGINAL: longlive289s

jegs good and known brand. never heard of t and l but im sure someone here has.

i think what u should do tho is tell us what you have and what your gonna use it for. is this gonna be a dd (if it is id suggest not using an older mustang then for a daily driver.)? this gonna be a show car? drag? weekender?

really depends on what u want outta this. im assuming since your using small blocks its pre 67. but some more details would help

and to soaring: i know your asleep now but we need to really have to add to the faq section engine sizes and whats best for weekenders, drags, dd's, etc... i know youll say find info and send it too ya tho
Yep....do the research and send it to me to add to the FAQ. This could be a site project. All of you get the info together, PM me with what you have, then I will combine it all, eliminate the duplications, and post an approval thread for you guys to approve it. How does that sound?

anyone stop to think he already has a 289 in there which are awsome little motors for daily drivers. why not either rebuild what you have and get up to the 300-350 mark with it, or buy one already built with the HP your looking at wanting. that way you still have the original sized motor in there, it will rev up quick, have better gas milage, and still be fast as hell.

just my .02

Buy a 5.0 Crate Motor from Jegs and pull that 289 and hang on to it. 289's are getting to be rare and they are awesome engines. You don't want to build it and blow it up. It's worth some money.

Nice thing about Tand L is they actually start and run thier engines and put em on a dyno and send you the sheet with the motor.
