Default HP Potential?

Ok,I just ordered parts for my son's 66 cpe, Starting with a 70 351 block, .030 over.
Strokin to 408
Victor Jr. heads, 60cc chambers, 210 cc intake runners
-19cc dished pistons, should work out to about a 10 to 1 compression ratio
Performer RPM air Gap, (yea I will have to do somting with the hood)
294/300 roller cam with .576\.600 lift (2,500 - 6,500 rpm range)

Havent bought carb yet will ge about a 750 cfm edelbrock or holley

Think I can get close to 500 hp?

shoot i hope you spent the same amount on the rear end and tranny too!

if its a cleveland block it will be very hard to get that in, if its a windsor, still tough but not as hard

might be pretty close to 500 if u throw a cam, headers, nice carb setup etc....

ah screw a tranny and rear end. throw the engine in. get up to 500. order a new tranny and rear end that can take it. but before u stick those in, take the car out to the street. put it in drive and slam it.....listen to the crunching of metal as either the driveline snaps, tranny or rear end. hell your not gonna use em anywhere else so, might as well have fun with it

That is funny I will think about that before the parts go in. I don't think there will be a problem in the rear end, it feature a currie nine inch.
The engine is a windsor..
