degins: Granada disk break swap only possible for 5 lug wheels ?

Do I have this right ?

Kalli
Only 5 lug wheels will fit on the swap. But the swap can be installed on a 4 lug suspension with no problems.

Spindles would be reused and tierods are already new, so i would just need everything past the spindles, if that makes sense..
Again, it depends on the year model of the Mustang.

A 65-67 system would cost about 400 to rehab with all new (refurbed) parts. A 68-73 system a bit less.

A worn out 65-67 Mustang disc brake system could be parted out for about $300 on eBay. In fact I would give $300 trade-infor brackets, calipers, and shieldsfrom a 65-67. I'm putting together2 sample sets for modeling their reproduction. SSBC stuff is not faithfull to the originals, so I can't use them.

A 68-73 system has little salvage value.

I have a question for the vendor. I have V8 car with the original spindles and such. Could I just buy the individual caplipers, rotors, etc. and reuse my spindles or will that not work. Thanks in advance and I am also sorry to hijack the thread!

The Granada swaprequires a beefier disc brake specific spindle.

haven't actually rolled in the car yet, but the install was pretty straightforward and Degins sent the power slot rotors so my son was drooling I also like the beefier spindles and I also put a Unisteer rack and pinion in at the same time and they have the correct tie rod ends to match the granada spindles, schwing!

Does this swap require that you use 15" wheels or will 14" still fit over the calipers?

Most 14" made before 1975 won't fit. Original 14" Magnums will fit.

What is the thought on going with power drums instead of manual disks? One advantage is that I can use my stock wheels, which is not a huge thing, but I already have them with basically new tires. Don't want to spend the extra money if I don't have to.
Already have to spend money to restore the front end as it is, so any expenses I can save is worth it.

Any thoughts
