Granada brake swap question.

RE: Granada brake swap question.
I'd rather have manual discs than power drums. The problem with the drums is that even with the "automatic adjusters", they never seem to stay in proper adjustment. Hence, they get the rep that they don't work well. In addition to not needing adjusting, the disc brake pads are much simpler to maintain and run cooler. I don't know about the Granada swap, but you can use the SSBC kit with the 14" wheels (at least you could when I did my last swap over ten years ago), although you'll certainly pay a lot more.

Thanks for the input. Makes sense what you are saying, and pricing is important to me based on the fact that I have so much other stuff to do. Although I am concerned about cost, my primary issue with the brakes is that the work well and are safe.
So, to me, the least expensive way to do this is the granada setup, and I'll just have to find some stock wheels that will fit or go with aftermarket. I'm not wild about turning down the rotors or grinding the calipers to make the stock 14's work.

RE: Granada brake swap question.
I have the Grenada set-up on my 67. It's non-power. I have currently 14" rims on the front. They clear the caliper. The issue is the hub is bigger diameter. If you want to use a hubcap, use a Grenada 14" rim. Otherwise use an aftermarket wheel. Magnum 500's will fit if you want a Ford style 14" rim.
