hood clearance

Default hood clearance

so i looked at the chart to see if my hood clearance numbers were on there but they weren't.... so now my question is? how do i find hood clearance my self?

CHECKING HOOD CLEARANCE

NOTE: Check hood clearance BEFORE removing stock manifold. [ol][*]Use modeling clay or putty and make five stools, two or three inches high.[*]Position stools on air cleaner at front, rear, each side and on center stud. See Figure 1. Figure 1[*]Close hood to locked position and re-open.[*]See Figure 2 and record on paper the measurements in spaces labeled A-B-C-D-E. Figure 2[*]These figures show the amount of clearance between the hood and the air cleaner. [/ol]

OK.....we already have a hood clearance chart, but I guess this one is a little simpler and easy enough to create.

i have a stock hood and just put in a new MSD dizzy and i cant get the air cleaner to fit so i was wondering if i could get a taller one to make up for the lost circumference!
